The main purpose of this book, titled “Economics in Everyday Life” written by Noushad Chengodan (Asst. Prof. in Economics, P.S.M.O. College, Tirurangadi), is to meet the requirements of students of non- Economics under the aegis of open course programme. Indeed, economics is one of the core subjects of social science and its relevance, areas and applications are enlarging day-by-day. Ironically, the subject Economics is dealing with the economic behaviour of human beings – as producer, consumer, distributor and so on. The basic functions that an economy or economic system has to perform are What to produce, How to produce, For whom to produce and how to choose between present and future. This book contains three chapters; namely: Module I: Basic Concepts and the Methods of Economics; Module II: Microeconomic Concepts & Module III: Macroeconomic Concepts.
