The book, entitled “Banking III & Banking IV” written by Noushad Chengodan (Asst. Prof. in Economics, P.S.M.O. College, Tirurangadi), aims to serve as a concise text to the needs of the students of the University of Calicut under the Choice based Credit and Semester System (CCSS – B.A. Economics: Semester III & Semester IV (Complementary). The Central Bank and the Development Banks are the integral part of the financial system of the country. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is the apex institution of the monetary segment of the nation. It formulates, implements and monitors the monetary policy as well as it has to ensure an adequate flow of credit to productive sectors. This book contains four chapters; namely: Module I: Meaning, Evolution and Functions of the Central Bank; Module II: Development Banks and Capital Market. Semester – IV: Module I: Agricultural Banking: Problems and Prospects & Module II: Financial Sector Reforms, Crisis and Public Sector Banks.
